Happy Birthday JJ!

I have always been wanting to do something for children... more kiddish designs and my chance finally came when Mrs Toon called requesting for 24 big cupcakes for her son, JJ's birthday party. She wants lots of chocolate for base and colourful topping.

So, I did chocolate base with lots of chocolate chips and added marshmellows too!

For the topping, JJ's favourite colours are yellow, blue, pink and purple! So i decided to use them all and make happy smiley faces for JJ & friends!

All together now.... It really looks like happy cup-a-cakes now!

Happy Belated Birthday JJ!

Cupcakes on tree for Mandy's dad...

Mandy is my dear friend poh sim's colleague... I got to know her during ps's wedding... She called me to order some cupcakes for her dad's 60th birthday celebration. She wanted to do what I did for Poh Sim's birthday...

She requested for 3 flavors... vanilla, chocolate and tiramisu.... and in order to fill up the cupcake tree, I made 24 pieces!

Had to put them separately. Into a carrier and the cupcake tree separately. I've given her instructions on how to put the together.. :)

I took this picture coz I wanted to show mandy a sample of how the cake would look like but I did not have to send it... sorry-ar!

She also requested for me to prepare some birthday tags for her & her family... 12 in total... the best part is the message from Joe Lee (their family dog)... I did not know how else to write a message from a dog but...

"woof woof woof!"

(dog translation: happy 60th birthday!!)

French Culinary Day 3: The making of Frozen Truffles

First we make the truffles... yumm yumm...

Then we put vanilla ice cream into small choc ball moulds, add a truffle and more ice cream!
We made the vanilla ice cream too! Using high pressure blender that takes only abt 15 mins for the whole process! Too bad the blender is so ex....

Then close the balls up carefully but fast, dip it into melted choc & carefully put it into the truffle powder; & roll it evenly! Then quickly freeze it!

French Culinary Day 3 - Tempering of Chocolate

First u melt, then u chill, then u heat..... oh... so much trouble! but what F.U.N.!!

The making of chocolate balls.... 1st u dust some shiny powder, then u coat 3 layers of choc!!
Then u leave them to harden in the chiller!

Once choc balls are ready.... we make the filling! Choc mousse, fruits, crumbles and more choc mousse! Then we close the ball up!!!
